A local client was preparing to launch a business that brings together singles in Reno for fun events and mixers. Paid members gain access to fun events like trivia nights, corn hole tournaments, hikes, and wine tastings.
Background
As an events company targeting local singles, the company needed a website that was both functional and appealing. The design needed to be easy-to-use and welcoming for viewers who might be hesitant to step out of their comfort zones into the paid dating world. The user experience needed to be intuitive to prevent the viewer from growing confused on the services and experiences offered by the company. With paid memberships, free memberships, events, and information to track for each customer, the site needed to enable advanced functions for tracking and access levels.
Objective
As a newly pitched company in its initial stages, the company had no website. The site would be built from the ground up to incorporate all necessary functions before launch date, to enable a smooth launch, easy management for staff, and a seamless experience for members, business partners, potential investors, and prospective clients.
Solution
A site with parallax effects for a 3-D, modern look and feel was created with images curated to reflect the company’s desired fun, social, and trendy brand. WordPress was used for its integrations, support, and compatibility. The Events Calendar plugin was customized and integrated to the site. The user experience on the designed website is simple: the user clicks on the events page and is then prompted to create a membership. During the signup process, members are asked customized questions such as relationship status, age, desired traits in a date, and hobbies. Those details are easily viewable by staff within the system. The user can choose between free and paid memberships, and there is an introductory offer of one month paid membership for free for new clients. With the paid and introductory memberships, more events are shown on the events page. This is to prevent non-paid members from finding a loophole by attending paid events at public locations without paying. Free members are able to view free events such as cocktail mixers and other open events created to draw in new clients. Both paid and free members are able to RSVP for events, comment on events, and view details such as location and venue details. Company administrators can adjust prices for individual tickets, reservation windows, and attendance capacity. With the website, the company will be able to launch with a custom, automated, intuitive system from day one. No fumbling with paper signup forms, getting confused with manual attendance tracking, or dealing with the wait, lines, and confusion of accepting cash. The site provides an all-in-one solution for clients, staff, event views, news, ticketing, forums, and member tracking.
